J. Scott Berry: Owner, Esthetician, Make-up Artist, Educator

J. Scott Berry (owner, esthetician, makeup artist, and educator) began his career in the Beauty Industry through theatre as a hobby. He became interested in makeup for the stage at age 19 designing his first makeup design for a children’s theatre production at Lake Sumter Community College where he was a student. J. Scott continued to follow the makeup industry through theatre and friends and after moving to Jacksonville to pursue a B.F.A. in musical theatre began working at salons and spas in Jacksonville. It was in Jacksonville that J. Scott began teaching workshops, Master Classes and seminars in Makeup and Skin Care. It was there he also worked with photographers, models, television and film. In 2001, J. Scott moved back to Leesburg and worked full-time as an esthetician and makeup artist. He joined the National Cosmetology Association and gained admittance into EstheticsAmerica. In 2003 J. Scott taught his first national class at the largest skin care event in the U. S. and followed that in 2004 as the Makeup/Esthetics Designer for the fall 2004 Trend. He has taught skin care, makeup and business classes for professionals all over the world and for many different organizations including the Continuing Education classes in South Carolina, National Cosmetology, International Esthetics Congress and the Association of Salon and Cosmetology Professionals. Since 2005, J. Scott has been an educator for the international company Repêchage and has taught classes for them all internationally including: Las Vegas, Miami, New York City, Trinidad/Tobago, and Jamaica and recently taught the classes to launch Repêchage to West Africa in the country of Ghana. J. Scott loves to teach classes and educate both professionals and consumer but his favorite thing is to get behind the facial chair and work one-on-one with clients for relaxation and see results in their skin. Since April of 2008, J. Scott has been serving Repêchage as their Southeast Regional Manger and Skin Care/Spa Consultant and continues to treat his clients at J. Scott’s Skin Care & Day Spa in Downtown Leesburg.

Sandra Bock (Esthetician, Makeup Artist & Nail Care)

Sandra Bock (Esthetician, Makeup Artist & Nail Care) became involved in skin care when she moved to Florida. Prior to that she was an accomplished high school teacher for over 25 years and had the opportunity to be a Fulbright Scholar, once in sub-Saharan Africa and once in Pakistan. Sandra has developed a clientele as an esthetician and has taught esthetics at the cosmetology school at The Salon Professional Academy and at Lake Technical Vocation Center. Sandy also trained in advanced esthetics including Microdermabrasion and chemical peels. She was also selected to be a make-up artist for the world premiere of the Repêchage VC5 facial and fashion show in New York City.Sandra is a member of the National Cosmetology Association and EstheticsAmerica professional organizations and is a Repêchage National Educator. Sandra moved to the Leesburg area with her husband 9 years ago from Omaha, Nebraska where they had been lifelong residents. Their two oldest children and three outstanding grandchildren still reside in that area. The two youngest sons moved to Florida with their parents and after graduating from Leesburg High School, enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and are still proudly serving our country.

Ginger Smith (Nail Technician)

Ginger Smith (Nail Technician) is a born and raised native Florida girl. Having been a nail technician for 9 years, Ginger is a Creative Nail Master specializing in Spa Manicures and Spa Pedicures. “I personally feel that it’s very important to take the extra time, out of our day to day lives, to take care of your hands and feet. Not only is it crucial to maintain healthy nails & feet, everyone should pamper themselves & enjoy looking and feeling their best! I look forward to meeting & seeing all of my new clients at J. Scott’s Skin Care & Day Spa.”

Tamara Quilling (Esthetician, Makeup Artist)

Tamara Quilling (Esthetician, Makeup Artist) became interested in skin care came while searching for a new career. Her prior experience has been in Real Estate sales, where she enjoyed helping clients find or build their dream homes. She knew she wanted to continue to be involved with building professional relationships and friendships but wanted to obtain this goal through a new venture. Her passion for helping and delivering results to clients brought her to the skincare industry. Tamara graduated from The Florida College of Natural Health, Maitland, Florida. She is looking forward to helping people look and feel better. She is also excited to be a part of the J. Scott’s team and educating clients about their skin and recommending products and treatments. Her goal is to exceed expectations through the level of services provided and care received. Tamara is a native Floridian, raised in Sumter County and now resides in South Lake County. She enjoys living in Lake County and being close to her family and friends.

Thomas A. Smith (Spa Manager)

Thomas A. Smith (Spa Manager) has lived in the Leesburg area for many years with 15 years of experience in General Management. His wife, Kathy is an educator with the Lake County Schools. Tom and Kathy have two children who graduated from Leesburg High School and continued their education at the University of Florida.
